About CardTerms

CardTerms is an independent reference site that surfaces the raw credit-card terms issuers report to the U.S. government. Government-surveyed credit-card APRs and fees by issuer, straight from the CFPB.

What we do

We take the CFPB Terms of Credit Card Plans (TCCP) Survey — a semiannual, legally-mandated survey of credit-card price and availability terms from over 150 issuers — and present it cleanly: surveyed purchase APR ranges, by-credit-tier rates and fees for 171 issuers across 663 products. Most consumer sites show you marketing offers; we show you the regulator-surveyed terms behind them.

Why it matters

The CFPB's own analysis found large banks charge roughly 8 to 10 percentage points more than small banks and credit unions for the same credit tier — a gap most shoppers never see. Putting the surveyed terms side by side makes that visible.

How we work

Every page is generated from the committed survey data and is answer-first, with a dated source line and a clear disclaimer. We never invent a missing value. See our methodology for the full pipeline, and note that these are surveyed terms, not offers (data as of CFPB TCCP survey, Jul-Dec 2025).
